As stated at its founding: The general purpose and intent of the Hine Fund is to “put into effect a ministry of Christian mercy and concern in meeting human needs as the Church thinks Jesus Christ Himself would have them met.”

Over the years, the Hine Fund Committee, made up of a Board of Trustees who are members of Augsburg Lutheran Church, have supported a variety of individuals, projects, and organizations. It is the intention not to be another source of general support, but rather to assist with a specific need or ask.

There is no application form, you are just encouraged to start a letter with: "Dear Hine Fund Committee,". You will want to be clear in the need, what you are asking for in terms of financial assistance, and what other sources of support are also engaged in this effort.

The Hine Fund Committee meets four times a year to make disbursements. The deadlines for submission are January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and September 1st.
